  • Dear Patron,

"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?" Romeo's romantic call heralds the arrival of Juliet in Shakespeare's famous balcony scene. As every theater lover knows, it is often paired with the beam of a stage light. Silver Spring Stage's lights have been dimming; your help can replace them and restore that mighty gleam.

The tax deductible contribution you make stretches your dollars. Silver Spring Stage received a matching grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County to brighten up the stage with new lights and equipment.

If everyone who reads this can make a gift of even just $18, you will light the lights anew. Or as Shakespeare put it better: "You shall shine more bright in these contents than unswept stone."

We know these are difficult times and we're getting the best lights at the most affordable price. So, your tax-deductible donation of $18 is very economical. Falstaff in Henry IV reassures you: "Thou hast saved me a thousand marks in links and torches, walking with thee in the night betwixt tavern and tavern: but the sack that thou hast drunk me would have bought me lights as good cheap at the dearest chandler's in Europe."
